This is a painting of a photo I recently took. You can find it on the photoblog page of my vacation rental website. The island is drowning in wild flowers of all colors and shapes. I am drawn most to these violets that splash the hillside and the cliffside down to the sea below with one of my favorite colors. Like sunflowers, they have the power to quiet my endlessly searching and inquisitive mind. They catch my wandering thoughts as breath gets caught in the throat when startled into beauty. It is then, when I have quieted, that I can look around me and see the earth in full orgasm, bringing forth and perpetuating Life in a zillion different ways. All exquisite and available to us through our senses if we would only release the chatter.
