A Relative Island

It has been two days since I’ve painted. We have all moved outside to start getting the rentals ready for the summer. There is much work but it feels good to be outside all day. I’m blogging the progress on my Odyssey blog (site info below).
I took this in the morning from the cliff-side rentals. The sea is nearly always this calm in the mornings and my dreamlets and I love to go snorkeling down here over the mosaic of stone below the surface. It’s too bad there aren’t as many fish anymore. The Trata’s have fished them out (boats that drag their nets behind them… they literally sweep up everything in it’s path). Still there are some fish to look at and schools of minows to swim after.
The seagulls are now nesting on the cliffs just below our house and the rentals. By summertime they move on to other cliffs and don’t return again until the following spring. I love watching their slow glide on the updrafts and soft clucking, as if chatting tenderly over a cup of tea….
The other reason I haven’t painted is because I’ve been working on a new Aegean Villas website and blog. I have more photos from this morning there. Check it out and let me know what you think!
Be well.
